Proudly Announces “An Evening of Scotch Mist 2014″

Friday October 17, 2014
This is going to be our 8th elegant and fun evening at the Arden Park Hotel. The 2014 evening of Scotch Mist will follow last year’s production with new Scotches and food courses. There will be five scotch tastings (or as the experts call it, ‘nosings and tastings’), and throughout the evening each scotch selection is carefully matched to food selections. For those, who do not yet appreciate the joys of scotch, red and white wines are available as an alternative. The evening will be directed by our Master of Ceremonies and will include: inside information from a scotch Ambassador; reenactment of the “Addressing the Haggis” ceremony; our own Bagpiper; and an auction of rare scotches and other items. This event is a fund raiser for the Rotary Club of Stratford Charitable Foundation. Current projects include a commitment to help fund a Mental Health wing at the Stratford Hospital, diverse literary programmes, funding of aquaboxes to areas hit by disaster and ongoing maintenance of the Rotary Respite House. There are a limited number of tickets available at $100.00 each. This includes the scotch or wine drinks and a classic dinner featuring Scottish and New World delicacies. Note: we ask that male guests wear a jacket and tie and certainly wear a kilt if you have one, and we hope the ladies will bring out their finery. Tickets will not be available at the door. Those who wish to stay over on the Friday evening at the Arden Park, a discounted room rate is available. Please contact their reservations line at 519-275-2936 or toll free 1-877-788-8818 and mention the Scotch Mist event name. There is a raffle draw on the night. Tickets are $5 each. First prize is a set of three Highland Park Valhalla series- Thor, Loki & Freya. Second prize is two tickets to next year’s event.

Thanks to Tom Fahey for providing the information for this forthcoming event.
