2014 HIGHLIGHTS…

ISLAY WHISKY LOUNGE

The Spirit of Islay meets Spirit of Toronto! This year we feature the ‘terroir’ of Islay by importing the tastes, sounds and sights of Scotland’s most famous whisky making region. This dedicated lounge will be hosted by self confessed Islay-philes Gordon and Melanie Homer. Gordon chronicles his passion for Islay at www.islayvisits.net and also founded the ‘Spirit of Islay’ forum which ran for more than ten years. A ‘Passport to Islay’ will be available to all those looking to explore this bucolic haven of whisky making.

WHISKY AND OYSTER BAR

Spirit of Toronto invites you to explore new gastronomic frontiers as we pair land and sea, matching select whiskies to a variety of oysters handpicked by Rodney’s Oyster House.

THE OLD FASHIONED: A MAD MEN TRIBUTE

Spirit of Toronto says farewell to Don Draper and company by celebrating none other than the Old Fashioned. Relive the sixties in style with various permutations of this iconic cocktail, as we match an imaginative array of bitters and syrups to our selection of featured spirits.

BOURBON AND ROSES

This year’s Spirit of Toronto coincides with the 140th Kentucky Derby, also known as the ‘Running of the Roses’. In celebration, we look forward to treating guests to a wide array of Kentucky’s finest at our Derby-inspired bourbon stand, complete with–what else?–red roses.

WHISKY AND JAZZ

Jazz and whisky: you’ll find both above the bar, and with that in mind we look forward to the return of the Mark Eisenman Trio and the bossa nova sounds of the Neil Swainson Duo.
